Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,049,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $30,873,414.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

5th Aldermanic District

N. 88th St. - W. Burleigh St. to W. Concordia Ave. (SM495050072) File Number 050718:  Sanitary sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $140,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $150,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

7th Aldermanic District

W. Burleigh St. at N. 44th St. (SM495050080) File Number 050718:  Storm sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $25,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $30,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

W. Burleigh St. - N. 47th St. to N. 49th St. (SM495050081) File Number 050718:  Relay sanitary and storm sewers. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $207,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $220,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

W. Canal St. - N. 25th St. to Selig Dr. (BR320051110) File Number 041405:  Expedited Schedule.  (Nonassessable Bridge Fund - - $100,000, additional fund).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $29,883,414.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

12th Aldermanic District

W. Forest Home Ave. - S. 16th St. to S. 18th St. (SM495060027) File Number 060137:  Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $198,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $198,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

15th Aldermanic District

W. Medford Ave. - W. Oak St. to W. Ash St. (SM495060033) File Number 060137:  Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $128,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $128,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

N. 24th St. - W. North Ave. to W. Medford Ave. (SM495050091) File Number 051082:  Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $251,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $264,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
