Title

Resolution approving technical change in Legislative File Number 051366, a contract extension between CORVEL Corporation, the City of Milwaukee and other government employees to provide Preferred Provider Network discounts and Pharmacy Benefit Management service for those employees using Workers’ Compensation services.

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has approved Legislative File Number 051366 to participate in a joint Preferred Provider Network Organization with CORVEL Corporation to control health care costs associated through network discounts and pharmacy benefit management services for six years; and

 

Whereas CORVEL provided Surgical RN Review for $72.20 per hour under the previous contract in a limited number of cases; and

 

Whereas, CORVEL proposes to provide “Professional Review Services” with a much larger number of cases with payment at 22% of savings effective as of January 1, 2006; and

 

Whereas, It is in the best interest of the City and the other government employers to have this “Professional Review Services” effective to January 1, 2006; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Employee Relations is directed to extend this contract with the technical changes for a period of three years, with the form and content of such agreement to extend the contract to be subject to the approval of the City Attorney.
