Title
Substitute resolution extending the due date for the final report and recommendations of the Milwaukee Housing Trust Fund Task Force and changing the date of dissolution of the Task Force.
Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File Number 051017 such that the deadline for the Milwaukee Housing Trust Fund Task Force to submit its findings and recommendations to the Common Council is changed from June 13, 2006, to July 31, 2006. It further amends File Number 051017 such that the Task Force will dissolve on the date of final Common Council action on File Number 060071, the resolution relating to recommendations of the task force for the operation and funding of a housing trust fund (previously, the Task Force was to be dissolved upon submission of its findings and recommendations to the Common Council).

Whereas, On December 13, 2005, the Common Council adopted File Number 051017, a resolution creating a task force to study issues related to establishing a City of Milwaukee Housing Trust Fund; and
Whereas, This resolution directed the task force to submit its findings and recommendations to the Common Council within 180 days of adoption of the resolution (i.e., by June 13, 2006); and
Whereas, This resolution also stipulated that the task force would be dissolved upon submission of its findings and recommendations to the Common Council; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee Housing Trust Fund Task Force, as it has come to be known, is actively engaged in preparing the report of its findings and recommendations, but may not be able to meet the June 13 deadline; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the final “Further Resolved” clause of Common Council File Number 051017 is deleted and the following 2 “Further Resolved” clauses are inserted to read as follows:
