Title

Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a landscape maintenance agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute on behalf of the City a landscape maintenance agreement between the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. and the City of Milwaukee.  The agreement pertains to a parcel of public street right-of-way at the northeast corner of West National and South Shea Avenues.  The unpaved parcel is currently grass covered.  The organization plans to install landscaping to beautify the property.  The agreement obligates the organization to maintain the new landscaping.

 

Body

Whereas, A portion of the street right-of-way at the northeast corner of West National and South Shea Avenues is unpaved and grass covered; and

 

Whereas, The Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. proposes to install decorative landscaping on a portion of the unpaved parcel, and

 

Whereas, The organization would also be willing to maintain the special landscaping it would install; and

 

Whereas, The landscape maintenance agreement codifying the maintenance responsibilities of the organization and the City has been drafted and is attached to this file; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that, the attached landscape maintenance agreement between the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. and the City of Milwaukee is hereby approved; and be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the City; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner may make minor, non-substantive changes to the agreement prior to its execution.
