Title

Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Weinhardt Computerized HIV Intervention Grant.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, to accept and fund the Weinhardt Computerized HIV Intervention Grant project from the Medical College of Wisconsin in the amount of $90,967.  The purpose of the project is to assess the effectiveness of HIV risk reduction counseling delivered by a computer.  

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Medical College of Wisconsin to assess the effectiveness of HIV risk reduction counseling delivered by a computer; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 04/01/06 to 03/31/07 would cost $90,967 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Medical College of Wisconsin is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2006 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Weinhardt Computerized HIV Intervention Grant:

2.  Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
