Title

Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these projects.  The City engineering cost for these projects is estimated to be $132,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $2,081,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $132,000 with the total cost estimated to be $2,081,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

2nd and 9th Aldermanic Districts

 

W. Mill Rd. - N. 76th St. to 170 feet m/l west of W. Brentwood Ave. (WT410061060):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $115,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

 

3rd Aldermanic District

 

N. Lincoln Memorial Dr. - E. Belleview Pl. (Extended) to Linnwood Water Treatment Plant (SM495060023):  Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $40,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $844,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

N. Murray Ave. - E. North Ave. to E. Bradford Ave. (SM495060025):  Combined sewer lining.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $198,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006/2007 construction season.

 

N. Oakland Ave. - E. North Ave. to 245 feet m/l south of E. North Ave. (SM495060024):  Combined sewer lining.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $30,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $450,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006/2007 construction season.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

W. Rogers St. - S. 12th St. to S. 13th St. (SM495060028):  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $8,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $64,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

S. 1st St. - 100 feet m/l north of W. Seeboth St. to 50 feet m/l north of W. Virginia St. (WT410061059):  (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $280,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

 

S. 12th St. - W. Rogers St. to W. Becher St. (SM495060026):  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000.  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $130,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
