Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install traffic control improvements at the intersection of South Layton Boulevard and West National Avenue at a total estimated cost of $32,582.06, with an estimated City share of $3,258.21. This resolution also authorizes the comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project.
Body
Whereas, The Surface Transportation Program provides cost participation for the construction of traffic control improvements with Federal Highway Safety Funds under the 2006 Hazard Elimination Safety (HES) Program; and

Whereas, Preliminary engineering for traffic control improvements for this project, previously authorized by the Common Council under Resolution File Number 051255, has been completed and are ready for installation in 2006; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost for traffic signal improvements for the project is $32,582.06; and

Whereas, Ten percent of the participating costs for traffic signal improvements, or $3,258.21 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division’s 2006 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320060000; and

Whereas, Ninety percent of the percent of the participating costs for traffic signal modifications and the construction of minor median island modifications, or $29,323.85, is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT), and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2006 Capital Grant and Aids Projects Fund Project/Grant Num...
