Title

An ordinance relating to enforcement of solid waste regulations.

Analysis

This ordinance authorizes the commissioner of health or the commissioner’s designee to enforce the provisions of subchapter 1of chapter 79, Solid Waste Regulations.  Enforcement authority is presently limited to the police department, the department of neighborhood services and the department of public works.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 79-15 of the code is amended to read:

 

79-15. Enforcement.  The police department, department of neighborhood services>>, department of health<< and the department of public works shall enforce this >>subchapter<<[[chapter]].

 

Part 2. Section 79-47-3 of the code is amended to read:

 

79-47. Penalties, Liens and Citations.

 

3.  CITATIONS.  In addition to other applicable enforcement procedures and pursuant to the authority of s. 66.0113. Wis. Stats., [[city officers listed in s. 79-15]] >>the commissioners of public works and neighborhood services or their designees<< may issue citations  pursuant to the citation procedure as set forth in s. 50-25 to any person who violates any provision of this subchapter.
