Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of 300 “Slow Down” yard signs from Aviles & Associates to be used by the Department to assist with public awareness in speeding.
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation, and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, Aviles & Associates has offered to donate 300 “Slow Down” yard signs for use by the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, These signs will assist the Department with public awareness in speeding; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of 300 “Slow Down” yard signs from Aviles & Associates; and, be it
Further Resolved, that such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
