Title
Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Covering Kids Grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Covering Kids Grant project from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through Community Advocates in the amount of $29,684. The purpose of the project is to assist low income families in obtaining medical insurance and food stamps and to develop strategies to reach out to families of school children.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through Community Advocates to assist low income families in obtaining medical insurance and food stamps and to develop strategies to reach out to families of school children; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project
from 02/01/06 to 01/31/07 would cost $29,684 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through Community Advocates is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2006 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled: Covering Kids Grant
