Title

Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Bader Lead Abatement Grant.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Bader Lead Abatement Grant project from the Helen Bader Foundation in the amount of $50,000. The purpose of the project is to conduct lead abatement in 27 housing units.

 

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Helen Bader Foundation to conduct lead abatement in 27 housing units; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/06 to 12/31/06 would cost $50,000 to be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Helen Bader Foundation is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2006 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Bader Lead Abatement Grant:

2.  Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement; and be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
