Title
Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations. The City engineering cost for cost of these projects is estimated to be $90,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $90,000 with the total cost estimated to be $714,000. Construction of these projects is anticipated to be in 2006, unless otherwise noted.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
1st Aldermanic District
N. 27th St. at W. Villard Ave. (SW170060104): Sanitary and storm relocation. (Nonassessable Expansion of Capacity Sewer Fund -- $15,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $124,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
3rd Aldermanic District
W. Cherry St. - N. Commerce St. (Vacated) to N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. (WT430063001): Water main extension. (Developer Water Fund -- $15,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $110,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
W. Vliet St. (Vacated) - N. Commerce St. (Vacated) to N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. (WT430063002): Water main extension. (Developer Water Fund -- $15,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $70,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
6th Aldermanic District
N. Humboldt Ave. - E. Kane Pl. to N. Commerce St. (WT410061058): Joint seal. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $150,000. This project is anticipated to be constructed in the fall of 2006 to winter 2007.
11th Aldermanic District
W. Utah Ave. - W. Nebraska Ave to W. Forest Home Ave. (WT410061131): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $60,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
15th Aldermanic District
N. Lindsay St. at point 300 feet m/l southwest of W. Garfield Ave. (WT410061091): Installing valve. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $200,000. This project is anticipated to be constructed in 2007 or 2008.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
