Title
Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvement projects at various locations. The City cost of these projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $2,748,000.
Analysis
This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works. The City cost of these projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $2,748,000. Construction of these projects is anticipated to be late spring or the summer of 2006, unless otherwise noted.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
3rd Aldermanic District
E. Brady St. at N. Arlington Pl. (ST211060178) File Number 041218: Concrete crosswalks. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $15,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $70,000. Construction is complete and these funds are needed to close out the contract.
4th and 15th Aldermanic Districts
W. Galena St. - N. 15th St. to N. 18th St. (SM495050074) File Number 050718: Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $400,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $435,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
N. 16th St. - 430 feet m/l south of W. Galena St. to W. Walnut St. (SM495050064) File Number 050718: Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $144,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $169,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

W. Mt. Vernon Ave. - N. 41st St. to N. 42nd St. (SM495050090) File Number 051082: Relay sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $86,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $96,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

W. Morgan Ave. (Various Locations) - The Kinnickinnic River to S. 35th St. (SM495050048) File Number 050934: Relay sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $691,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $735,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

S. Clement Ave. (Various Locations) - E. Holt Ave. to E. Norwich St. (SM495050053) File Number 050317: Relay sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,240,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $1,280,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
15th Aldermanic District
W. Walnut St. - N. 15th St. to N. 17th St. (SM495050076) File Number 050718: Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $53,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $62,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
W. Wright St. - N. 29th St. to the Soo Line Railroad right of Way (SM495030252) File Number 050136: Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $77,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $89,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.
N. 17th St. - W. Galena St. to W. Walnut St. (SM495050075) File Number 050718: Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $42,000). The total cost to date for this project including the requested amount is $51,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2006 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
