Analysis
Whereas, A project agreement has been executed by the WISDOT and the City of Milwaukee for the resurfacing of West Lisbon Avenue between Soo Line Railroad Bridge and North Sherman Boulevard in accordance with Common Council Resolution File Number 040400, adopted July 27, 2004; and
Body
Whereas, Preliminary Engineering activities have begun using funds in the amount of $199,820 as authorized by Common Council Resolution File Number 040400 and the roadway will be reconstructed rather than resurfaced in 2007 and therefore, the construction costs have increased from the original agreement, however no additional preliminary engineering funds are needed; and

Whereas, The revised project agreement with the updated construction cost has been received from the WISDOT to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the reconstruction of West Lisbon Avenue between North Sherman Boulevard and Soo Line Railroad with 80 percent Federal and/or State aid; and

Whereas, The total project cost was $1,533,935 and the City’s share was $306,787; and

Whereas, The revised total project cost is estimated to be $2,688,000 with the City’s share at $537,600; and

Whereas, Construction funds for the project, a single-year funded project, will be included in future resolutions; and

Whereas, The State cannot proceed with any project cost overruns and/or changes in scope of more than five percent without prior Department of Public Works (DPW) approval; and
