Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File 050594 relative to the Milwaukee Fire Department’s application for, acceptance and expenditure of the United States Fire Service Assistance in Response to Hurricane Katrina grant. This grant provides salaries, overtime and miscellaneous supplies for 20 personnel deployed to assist in areas affected by Hurricane Katrina for a time period of 30 days.

This resolution will amend the grantor portion of this grant by $70,000, from $291,006 to $361,006. The amended grant award total is $601,719; $361,006 provided from the grantor and $240,713 as the City’s in-kind contribution.

Body
Whereas, Common Council File 050594 authorized the Milwaukee Fire Department to apply for, accept and fund the United States Fire Service Assistance in Response to Hurricane Katrina Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the purpose of deploying personnel to the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina; and

Whereas, This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $291,006; and

Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $70,000.00 to $361,006; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency is authorized and the Fire Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
