Title
Resolution authorizing the remission of taxes for real property located at 6031 West Howard Avenue, which was acquired by the City and conveyed to Milwaukee County for inclusion in Armour Park.
Body
Whereas, By Resolution File Number 971920, adopted May 11, 1999, the City of Milwaukee agreed to a settlement of the consolidated actions entitled Indian Council for the Elderly, Inc., et al. v. City of Milwaukee, Case Number 94-C-104; and

Whereas, By Resolution File Number 971920, the City of Milwaukee further authorized execution of an Intergovernmental Cooperation and Development Agreement by and among the City of Milwaukee, the City of Greenfield, Milwaukee County, the Indian School for the Elderly, Inc., the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi and the School Sisters of St Francis; and

Whereas, In conjunction with the implementation of the Intergovernmental Cooperation and Development Agreement the City took title to 6031 West Howard Avenue pursuant to a Warranty Deed executed by James H. Blaser as of November 30, 1999, which was recorded with the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds on June 14, 2001; and

Whereas, The City was the beneficial owner of the real property located at 6031 West Howard Avenue in 2001 and 2002; and

Whereas, The Common Council desires to provide for the remission of taxes outstanding with respect to 6031 West Howard Avenue; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers are authorized and directed to issue a city check in the amount of $5,489.02, payable to Milwaukee City Treasurer Wayne F. Whittow to remit the outstanding 2001 and 2002 property taxes on tax account number 572-9997-110-6, said amount to be charged to the Remission of Taxes Fund, (Fund 0001-Org 1490-Program 1840-Class S163-Acount 636508), said check to be delivered to the Customer Services Unit of the Office of the City Treasurer; ...
