Title

An ordinance relating to times during which certain Class “A” fermented malt beverage retail licensees may sell to employees.

Analysis

Currently, an establishment with a Class “A” license may not sell malt beverages after 9:00 p.m. This ordinance permits a brewery that operates with a bona fide 3rd shift 9 months or more in any prior year to sell closed packages of fermented malt beverages to its 3rd shift employees on its premises until 11:00 p.m. 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Section 90-15-2 of the code is amended to read:

 

90-15. Hours of Operation.

2.  CLASS “A” FERMENTED MALT BEVERAGE RETAILER’S LICENSE. No holder of such a license shall sell fermented malt beverages between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. >>, except a brewery that operates a bonafide 3rd shift for at least 9 months of a previous year may sell fermented malt beverages to its employees in a designated employee shopping area on brewery premises between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. <<
