Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce Brownfield Grant for remediation activities at the City-owned property at 3613 North Palmer Street, in the 6th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee, Department of City Development, to accept and fund a State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce Brownfield Grant. The grant will be for remediation activities at 3613 North Palmer Street, which will include the removal of contaminated soil from the site. The amount of the project is $236,264 with a Grantor Share of $40,000 and the City share of $196,264. The City share will be a combination of Grants and In-Kind City services.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”) appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration, Intergovernmental Relations Division, has determined that operation of the Grant project from June 13, 2005 to December 31, 2008 will cost approximately $236,264, 17 percent will be provided by the Grantor; and

Whereas, The City Share of this Grant project, $196,264 or 83 percent, will come from Grants and In-Kind City services:

In-Kind City Share: $196,264

Out-of-Pocket City Share: $-0-

Local, Non-City Share: $-0-

; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration, Intergovernmental Relations Division, has determined that the benefits to the City from the Grant project appears to exceed the City's Share of costs and other obligations to be incurred under this project; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of this Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce under the terms specified above, is authorized; and, be it
