Resolution approving an addendum to the 2005 Basic Life Support Services Medical Control Agreement with Milwaukee County.
Analysis
This resolution approves an addendum to the 2005 basic life support services medical control agreement between the City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee. The addendum will extend the current agreement for an additional one-year period (January 1-December 31, 2006). This agreement coordinates the municipal activities for providing basic life support services for the purposes of medical control.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee initially entered into a contract for paramedic services on August 25, 1977; and
Whereas, On February 1, 2005, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 041265, allowing the Milwaukee Fire Department to enter into an agreement from January 1, 2005 - December 31, 2005, that defines municipal and county responsibilities under the provision of basic life support services; and
Whereas, Under this agreement, the City of Milwaukee agrees to continue to schedule Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) staff during any 24-hour shift based on state staffing requirements as identified in ch. HFS 110, Wisconsin Administrative Code; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and the County of Milwaukee wish to amend the 2005 contract to reflect the change; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the addendum to the 2005 basic life support services medical control agreement between the City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee, a copy which is attached to this file, is approved and the proper City officers are authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City.
