Resolution approving an addendum to the 2004-2005 Emergency Medical Services Agreement for paramedic services with Milwaukee County.
Analysis
This resolution approves an addendum to the 2004-2005 paramedic service agreement between the City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee. The addendum will extend the current paramedic system agreement for an additional one-year period (January 1-December 31, 2006) and identifies the change in percentage of system revenue for the City of Milwaukee as directed by the Intergovernmental Coordinating Council. Milwaukee County will begin payment of 2006 system revenue and tax levy upon receipt of the signed addendum.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and County of Milwaukee initially entered into a contract for paramedic services on August 25, 1977; and

Whereas, On February 10, 2004, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 030990, allowing the Milwaukee Fire Department to continue to participate in the countywide paramedic emergency medical system for the 2004-2005 contract period; and

Whereas, On May 20,2005, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 050039, related to the percentage of system revenue paid to the City of Milwaukee for participation in this program for the period of January 1 - December 31, 2005; and

Whereas, The County distributes payments to the City based on a formula developed and adopted by the Intergovernmental Coordination Council net of billing fees and reductions for administrative expenses; and

Whereas, The Intergovernmental Coordinating Council has agreed to extend the paramedic service agreement with Milwaukee County for an additional one year period (January 1- December 31, 2006); and
