Analysis

This resolution authorizes settlement of the lawsuit of Arthur Heitzer v. City of Milwaukee, et al., Case No. 05-C-0865, in the amount of $8,500.

Body

Whereas, The plaintiff, Arthur Heitzer, has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and Barbara Rotramel; and

Whereas, The plaintiff has agreed to settle the lawsuit in the amount of $8,500; and

Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $8,500, payable to the order of Arthur Heitzer and the Law Offices of Peter Earle, LLC, in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, upon receipt of a release of claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001-1490-0001-S118-006300.
