Analysis
This substitute resolution approves the expenditure of $75,000 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund for the purpose of repairing the retaining wall, fencing and extensive landscaping along the property located at 2156 South 4th Street.
Body
Whereas, The 2005 Capital Budget for the City of Milwaukee (“City”) contains $75,000 in the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund; and

Whereas, The City has an ongoing commitment to the revitalization of neighborhood commercial districts; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee (“Common Council”) on November 3, 2004 by File No. 040877, created Business Improvement District No. 35 (Kinnickinnic River) (“BID No. 35”) and approved its first year Operating Plan; and

Whereas, BID No. 35 has worked collaboratively with area business owners to market and promote the commercial district; and

Whereas, An enhancement project for the property located at 2156 South 4th Street will include repair of the retaining wall, fence and extensive landscaping; and

Whereas, These public way improvements will greatly enhance the Kinnickinnic River commercial district; and

Whereas, BID No. 35 has identified project funds, which match the amount of City funds for this project; now, therefore, be it
