Analysis
This substitute resolution approves the expenditure of $18,262 for the Historic Third Ward Commercial District Enhancement Project. The enhancement project will include additional trash receptacles and other street amenities.
Body
Whereas, The 2005 Capital Budget for the City of Milwaukee (“City”) contains $18,262 in the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund; and

Whereas, The City has an ongoing commitment to the revitalization of neighborhood commercial districts; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee on October 6, 1987 by File No. 870501, created Business Improvement District No. 2 (Historic Third Ward) (“BID No. 2”) and approved its first year Operating Plan; and

Whereas, BID No. 2 has worked collaboratively with area business owners to market and promote the commercial district; and

Whereas, A proposed enhancement project in the Historic Third Ward will include additional trash receptacles and other street amenities; and

Whereas, These public way improvements will greatly enhance the district; and

Whereas, BID No. 2 has identified project funds which match the amount of City funds for this project; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to transfer $18,262 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund to the Historic Third Ward Commercial District Enhancement Project Account No. STO4083800; and, be it
