Resolution declaring a vacant, tax-deed lot located at 2224 South 18th Street surplus and authorizing its sale to Luis A. Rodriguez for use as green space, in the 13th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of a vacant, tax-deed lot for use as green space.
Body
Whereas, After a request to purchase the vacant, tax-deed lot at 2224 South 18th Street from Luis A. Rodriguez, the Department of City Development ("DCD") determined its fair market value to be $3,750 and Mr. Rodriguez agreed to pay this amount to acquire said lot; and
Whereas, DCD then informed the other adjoining owner that they were entitled to a split of said vacant lot if they so desired and no reply was received from them; and
Whereas, Luis A. Rodriguez wishes to purchase the whole lot which adjoins his property at 2218-20 South 18th Street in the agreed-upon amount of $3,750; and
Whereas, DCD recommends acceptance of said offer since this lot is not considered a buildable lot; and
Whereas, Said lot is to be sold in an "as is" condition without representations or warranties including but not limited to soil quality and subsurface condition; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that there is no municipal need for said lot; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said lot is declared surplus, that the offer from Luis A. Rodriguez is accepted and that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution with the proceeds from the sale, less a 20 percent disposition cost reimbursement paid to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 0001-334106.
