Title

Substitute ordinance to create Section 295-1011 of the Milwaukee Code relating to Flood Plain District Boundary adjustments in the Menomonee River watershed, in the 8th, 10th and 15th Aldermanic Districts.

Analysis

This substitute ordinance amends the boundary of the 100-year and 500-year special flood hazard areas along a portion of the Menomonee River for portions of Valley Park.

Body

The Mayor and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. There is added to the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances a new section to read as follows:

 

Section 295-1011.0003. The zoning map is amended to revise portions of the Flood Plain District boundary along the Menomonee River watershed as shown on the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map (“FIRM”) Community Panel Number 550278 0021 C, Effective Date: November 15, 1985. The revision includes portions of land to be removed from the Special Flood Hazard Area (“SFHA”) along the Menomonee River from approximately 2,400 feet upstream of South 35th Street to just downstream of the Soo Line Railway crossing South of Interstate Highway 41 and is more particularly shown on file in the office of the City Clerk.
