Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of a motorboat and trailer from the Wisconsin Technical College System Foundation. (Police Department)

Analysis:      

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of a motorboat and trailer from the Wisconsin Technical College System Foundation to be used in carrying out the Department's law enforcement activities.  

Body:

Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City, and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Technical College System Foundation has offered to donate a motorboat and trailer to the Milwaukee Police Department; and

Whereas, This donation will assist the Department in performing its law enforcement duties, especially on in-land waterways; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of a motorboat and trailer from the Wisconsin Technical College System Foundation; and, be it

Further Resolved, That such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
