Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File 040128 and 040057 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the FY 2004 Urban Areas Security Initiative Grant . The grant award is unchanged; however, the funding will create an additional position in the Health Department of one Vet/Agro Terrorism Planning Coordinator. .
Body
Whereas, Common Council File 040057 authorized the acceptance and expenditures of a U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office of Domestic Preparedness FY2004 Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $8,142,000 ; and
Whereas, Common Council File 040128 increased the grantor share to $8,848,999; of which $3,419,999 will be used by the Milwaukee Fire Department, $2,520,000 by the Milwaukee Police Department and $722,000 by the Milwaukee Health Department and $795,000 will be pass through funding to the Milwaukee County, $650,000 to Waukesha County, $450,000 to Washington County and $292,000 to the Greater Milwaukee Red Cross Chapter; and
Whereas, The position of Vet/Agro Terrorism Planning Coordinator is necessary for the Health Department to achieve the goals of this grant and the position had not been previously authorized in the grant; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 040128 is amended to include this position; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2004 Positions Ordinance, Common Council File 030415, should be amended as follows:
