Substitute resolution relative to acceptance and funding of the Lead Outreach Grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Lead Demonstration Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the amount of $520,530 comprised of $417,309 in grantor share and $103,221 in City matching funds. The purpose of the project is to develop and implement intensive and coordinated education, screening and housing advocacy in target areas.
BODY
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to develop and implement intensive and coordinated education, screening and housing advocacy in target areas; and

Whereas, The application for these funds was approved by Common Council File 040755; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/05 to 12/31/06 would cost $520,530; $417,309 (80%) to be provided by the grantor and $103,221 (20%) in City matching funds; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development was authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2005 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Lead Outreach Grant:
