Analysis
This resolution authorizes cancellation of the balance of cash advanced to Fair Lending Coalition and Sherman Park Redevelopment Corporation under the Community Development Block Grant and transfers $16,869.72 from the Common Council Contingent Fund to the CDBG Contingency Fund for purposes of writing off uncollectable cash balances.
Body
Whereas, Fair Lending Coalition and Sherman Park Redevelopment Corporation received funding under the Community Development Block Grant; and

Whereas, The cash advance granted to the Fair Lending Coalition and Sherman Park Redevelopment Corporation in excess of the total amount of grant awards had remaining balances of $5,651.00 and $11,218.72; and

Whereas, Efforts by the Comptroller's Office and the Office of the City Attorney to obtain repayment of the cash advance will be fruitless; and

Whereas, The agencies are no longer in existence and the cost of any attempts to recover the monies would be in excess of the amounts recovered; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the cash advance balances of $5,651.00 and $11,218.72 held by Fair Lending Coalition and Sherman Park Redevelopment Corporation, respectively, be and are hereby cancelled; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer the sum of $16,869.72 from the 2004 Common Council Contingency Fund Account No. 0001-9990-0001-C001-2004-006300 to an account within the Contingency Fund (CDBG Cash Advance W/O - 0001-2110-0001-CXXX-2004-006300) for the purposes of writing o...
