Analysis      

This resolution requests all entities who develop or own property or are otherwise responsible for pedestrian accessible areas adjacent to the Milwaukee River within the City to install guard rails along the riverbank or to prominently display warning signs.

Body

Whereas, The City has invested its resources to create an attractive and viable environment along the Milwaukee River for businesses and people to enjoy; and

Whereas, The river's natural beauty captivates both adults and children, but most people are often unaware of the potential hazards the river possesses; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council requests all entities who develop or own property or are otherwise responsible for pedestrian accessible areas adjacent to the Milwaukee River within the City to install guard rails along the riverbank or to prominently display warning signs.
