Analysis
This ordinance describes the requirement and permit restrictions for vehicles of an excessive size, weight and load. It also allows for multiple trip permits.

Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 81-80 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:

81-80. Excessive Size, Weight, and Load Vehicle Permit.

1. The fee for each oversize or overweight single trip permit without police department escort shall be $85.

2. The fee for each oversize or overweight single trip permit with police department escort shall be $205.

3. The fee for each oversize or overweight multiple trip permit for one month shall be $275.

4. The fee for each oversize or overweight multiple trip permit for 6 months shall be $500.

5. The fee for each oversize or overweight multiple trip permit for 6 months that is transferred to another vehicle shall be $25.

Part 2. Section 101-5.5-1-a of the code is amended to read

101-5.5. Excessive Size, Weight and Load Permit.

1. REQUIRED BY VEHICLE OPERATOR.

a. No person may operate on a highway within the city any vehicle having a total width in excess of 8-1/2 feet, an overall height in excess of [[12-1/2]] >>13-1/2<< feet, an overall length in excess of [[65]] >>75<< feet, or a total weight of more than 80,000 lbs., even if a permit has been issued by the state of Wisconsin, without obtaining a permit from the commissioner of public works.

Part 3. Section 101-5.5-1-d of the code is repealed.

Part 4. Section 101-5.5-3-a and e of the code is amended to read:
