Resolution relative to application for the Steps to a Healthier US Grant. (Health Department)

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for the Steps to a Healthier US Grant Project from the U.S. Division of Health and Human Services.  The purpose of the project is to target adolescent obesity by working with the schools and neighborhoods to develop best practice fitness and nutrition programs for youth.    

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Division of Health and Human Services to target adolescent obesity by working with the schools and neighborhoods to develop best practice fitness and nutrition programs for youth; now, therefore, be it     

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the U.S. Division of Health and Human Services is authorized.
