Analysis

This resolution will authorize the City of Milwaukee to transfer jurisdiction of a tax-deed vacant lot to Milwaukee Public Schools.

Body

Whereas, The Board of School Directors of Milwaukee Public Schools ("MPS") has approved construction of an addition to the Irving J. Seher Boys and Girls Club at 24th and Rogers to house a new neighborhood school and construction recently commenced; and

Whereas, MPS would like to acquire the City-owned, tax-deed vacant lot at 2320 West Rogers Street for assemblage with its adjacent property for construction of a parking lot for the school; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that the public use of this lot is appropriate; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that jurisdiction of the City-owned vacant lot at 2320 West Rogers Street shall be transferred to MPS; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of DCD, or assigns, is authorized to execute documents and perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution.
