Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of eight vacant, tax-deed lots for residential construction.
Body
Whereas, West End Development Corporation has offered to purchase for $1 each eight vacant, tax-deed lots at 1621 and 1625 North 36th Street, 1518, 1522 and 1526 North 38th Street and 3831, 3935 and 3939 West Galena Street for assemblage into buildable lots for construction of single-family homes that will be sold to qualified owner-occupants; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development (“DCD”) recommends acceptance of said offer with closing contingent upon DCD approval of final site and building plans; and

Whereas, These lots will be sold “as is” without representations or warranties including, but not limited, to soil quality and subsurface condition; and

Whereas, After assemblage of the lots through certified survey maps, West End Development Corporation will transfer one buildable lot on North 38th Street to Habitat For Humanity, Inc., for construction of a single-family, owner-occupied home; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that there is no municipal need for said lots; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said lots are declared surplus to municipal needs and that the offer from West End Development Corporation is accepted; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of DCD, or assigns, is authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution with the proceeds from the sale credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit...
