Title
Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of City Development to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System relative to the provision of planning and design services to the City of Milwaukee.
Analysis
The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the Commissioner of City Development to enter into an agreement with the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System relative to the provision of planning and design services to the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") is desirous of obtaining the design and planning services of Robert Greenstreet, who is currently Dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System ("Board of Regents"), on behalf of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee ("University"), is willing to provide to the City of Milwaukee ("City") the design and planning services of Robert Greenstreet; and
Whereas, Collaboration between the University and the City is an appropriate and desirable means to accomplish the goals of the City regarding design and planning services; and
Whereas, An agreement between the City and the Board of Regents has been drafted, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, specifying the services to be provided by the University through Robert Greenstreet for a one-year period, at a sum not to exceed $95,000, which will result in a high level of service at a lower cost than previously expended on the position of City Planner; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of City Development is authorized and directed to enter into said agreement on behalf of the City between the Board of Regents and the City, which agreement will be in substantially the same form as submitted with this Common Council File, which is approved; and, be it
Further Resolved, That City Development is authorized to transfer $48,000 from its salary account to its services account to cover the costs incurred under this agreement during 2004.
