Title
Resolution to temporarily close West Juneau Avenue between North 9th Street and North 11th Street, in the 4th Aldermanic District. (Infrastructure Services Division)
Analysis
The City of Milwaukee has a significant amount of utility work to undertake within West Juneau Avenue between North 9th Street and North 11th Street. This work is necessary to support the Pabst City Development and the Marquette Interchange Project. In addition, other private utilities have work scheduled in West Juneau Avenue as well. The timely completion of this work is critical to meet the Marquette Interchange schedule. The resolution would authorize the full closure of West Juneau Avenue between North 9th Street and North 11th Street during the months of June, July, and August, 2004. West Juneau Avenue will be a traffic mitigation route between September 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004 at which time the Juneau Avenue Bridge over IH-43 will be removed as part of the Marquette Interchange Project and will not be reconstructed. With the removal of the Juneau Avenue Bridge in January, 2005, traffic on West Juneau Avenue is expected to be minimal until the Pabst City Development is completed at the end of 2006.
