Analysis
Adoption of this resolution by at least two-thirds vote of the Common Council will approve the amendment to the above-identified project area plan. This resolution amends the Redevelopment Plan (“Plan”) for the Park West Area “F” Urban Renewal Project to change the permitted land use in a portion of the Plan area designated as Sub Area A. This resolution also further declares 1243 West Lloyd Street surplus to municipal needs and conveys it to the Redevelopment Authority and authorizes the Redevelopment Authority to accept other deeds with clear title to any portion of Sub Area A.

Whereas, On June 14, 1984, the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Authority”) and on June 29, 1984, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee (“Common Council”) adopted a Redevelopment Plan (“Plan”) for the Park West Area “F” Urban Renewal Project; and

Whereas, The Plan was recorded on July 31, 1984 in the Office of the Register of Deeds of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, as Document No. 5738173, on Reel 1664, Image 895; and

Whereas, The Plan designated a portion of the land for recreation and future school expansion; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”) developed the land as the Lloyd Street Playfield in the late 1980's; and

Whereas, The playfield is underutilized and not needed for future school expansion; and

Whereas, Milwaukee's City Plan Commission reviewed Amendment No. 1 to the Plan and determined that it conforms to the general plan of the City and to local objectives as to appropriate land uses, improved traffic, public transportation, public ...
