Analysis:
This resolution cancels a portion of the judgment entered on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and against Ronald Collison.
Body:
Whereas, A judgment was entered on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and against Ronald Collison on March 31, 2003 in the amount of $58,049.52, Milwaukee Circuit Court Case No. 98-CV-08416, for real estate taxes at 1414-1420 North 4th Street, tax key no. 361-0292-100-8, for 1992 through 1997, 2001 and 2002; and
 
Whereas, The judgment was referred to the Kohn Law Firm for collection; and
 
Whereas, After a supplemental examination, the Kohn Law Firm has determined that Ronald Collison's expenses of the dry cleaning business located at said address are considerably larger than the revenue generated and that his home at 2140 North 93rd Street is fully encumbered; and
 
Whereas, A commercial property owned by Mr. Collison and located at 2578 North 76th Street is also failing to generate any income and is fully encumbered; and
 
Whereas, Ronald Collison and his wife subsist primarily through gifts and loans from his family; and
 
Whereas, Ronald Collison has paid a total of $35,501.73 on the real estate taxes to date for 1414-1420 North 4th Street; and
 
Whereas, Ronald Collison has offered to pay $1,000.00 in total settlement of the judgment; and
 
Whereas, The settlement of the judgment is in the best interests of the City; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the judgment in favor of the City of Milwaukee and against Ronald Collison be settled for $1,000.00 and that the real estate taxes for 1992 through 1997, 2001 and 2002 shall be reduced to zero balances.
