Resolution authorizing and directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming and construction of static directional signs on Central Business District (CBD) streets using Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement funds.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming and construction of static directional signs on CBD streets using Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement program funds. The agreement provides 80 percent Federal and/or State funds for preliminary engineering and construction. The resolution also directs the City Comptroller to create the necessary accounts to fund the City of Milwaukee's share of preliminary engineering for these projects.
Body:
Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT), along with a Project Agreement to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, for the programming and construction of a 2002-2004 Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) grant project; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) has submitted a project agreement for execution by the City of Milwaukee for the design and construction of:

Project I.D. 1693-26-08/78
Milwaukee CBD Parking Identification & Wayfinding System (Non Hwy)
Milwaukee County

; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute the agreement for the programming and the design/construction of the aforementioned project with federal enhancement funds, a copy of which is attached to and incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth ...
