Resolution relative to the cost participation and installation of traffic signal improvements at the intersection of South Cesar Chavez Drive and West Mitchell Street in the 12th Aldermanic District. (Infrastructure Services Division)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works under a State/ Municipal agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to install the necessary traffic signal improvements under the 1998-01 Hazard Elimination Safety (HES) program.
Body
Whereas, The Hazard Elimination Safety (HES) program provides cost participation for traffic control improvements at locations having accident reduction potential; and

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 980706, adopted September 23, 1998, authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement for programming and construction of traffic control improvements at this location under the 1998-2001 Hazard Elimination Safety (HES) program; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $13,300.00 for the modification of traffic signal facilities; and

Whereas, Ten percent of the participating project cost or $1,330.00 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2004 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320040000; and

Whereas, Ninety percent of the participating project cost or $11,970.00 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2004 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund Project/Grant Number SP032040100; now, therefore, be it
