Title

Analysis
This ordinance states that the certificate of insurance required for those who construct fences in the public right-of-way abutting residential property and the public sidewalk shall be filed with the commissioner of city development. They are currently filed with the city clerk.

Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 245-4.5-4 of the code is amended to read:
245-4.5. Placement of Fences in Street Right-of-Way Abutting Residential Property and Public Sidewalk.
4. LIABILITY. [[Owners and/or residents]] >>The owner or resident<< of property involving the placement of a fence shall file with the [[city clerk]] >>commissioner of city development<< a certificate of insurance or a rider on [[their]] >>his or her<< home owner's policy indicating that [[the applicant]] >>he or she<< holds a public liability policy in the sum of at least $25,000 covering bodily injury to any one person, and $50,000 covering bodily injury to more than one person in any one accident, and $10,000 covering property damage to any one owner on the area or areas included within the fence permit, and naming the city of Milwaukee as an insured. The insurance policy shall provide that it shall not be cancelled [[until after at least 30 days' notice in writing to the city clerk]] >>without 30 days' written notice to the commissioner of city development<<.
