Title
Resolution authorizing a sidewalk replacement project in the Eighth and Twelfth Aldermanic Districts.
Analysis
To provide the necessary authority for sidewalk repairs in the Eighth and Twelfth Aldermanic Districts.
Body
Whereas, It is necessary and in the public interest to replace those sidewalk stones which are cracked, broken, out of grade or otherwise a hazard to pedestrians; and
 
Whereas, It is proposed that sidewalk replacement work be done in the following locations at the indicated cost:
 
Area bounded by West Lincoln Avenue, South 13th Street, West Becher Street, West Forest Home Avenue, South 27th Street, Chicago and Northwestern Railroad right-of-way, and South 20th Street, in the Eighth, Twelfth and Thirteenth Aldermanic Districts, ST230040119; and
 
Whereas, Funds have been encumbered and thus set aside for the proposed public improvement; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be, and is hereby authorized and directed to proceed to do the above described sidewalk replacement work and the City Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to transfer $97,007 from Account No. 0333-4926-ST230040000 and $253,997 from Account No.
0330-4926 ST230040000, which is available for Subaccounts; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the proper City departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting properties, and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
