Resolution amending Common Council Files 030676 and 030697, resolutions relating to 2004 State of Wisconsin recycling grants (Department of Public Works).
Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council Files 030676 and 030697, both of which relate to application for, acceptance and expenditure of 2004 State of Wisconsin recycling grants, by authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works, rather than the Department of Public Works, to apply for, accept and expend these grant monies. This change was requested by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

Whereas, On September 23, 2003, the Common Council adopted File Number 030676, a resolution authorizing the Department of Public Works to apply for, accept and expend a 2004 Recycling Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; and

Whereas, On that date, the Common Council also adopted File Number 030697, a resolution authorizing the Department of Public Works to apply for, accept and expend a 2004 State of Wisconsin Recycling Efficiency Grant; and

Whereas, The Department of Natural Resources requires that a specific person be responsible for applying for, accepting and expending funding under these 2 grant programs; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the “Resolved” clause of Common Council File Number 030676 is amended by replacing the words “Department of Public Works” with the words “Commissioner of Public Works; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the second “Further Resolved” clause of Common Council File Number 030676 is amended by replacing the words “Department of Public Works, which” with the words “Commissioner of Public Works, who”; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the “Resolved” clause and the first “Further Resolved” clause of Common Council File Number 030697 are amended by replacing each occurrence of the words “Departme...
