Title
Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2004 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council (Police Department and all Management).
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 030414 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

Under Salary Grade 012, delete the title "Police Commander" and add the title "Inspector of Police."

Part 2. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 030414 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows: (Effective Pay Period 1, 2004 - December 21, 2003)

Delete the information preceding the first salary grade and substitute the following:

Rates for Section 2 effective Pay Period 1, 2004 (December 21, 2003) - 2.5% increase for Salary Grades 001 through 010 only. Salary Grades 011 through 020 will be frozen at 2003 rates for pay periods 1 through 26, 2004. For purposes of adjusting salaries for salary grades 011-020 for Pay Periods 1 through 26, 2005, a 2.5% adjustment shall be applied to these grades, in addition to any other adjustment for 2005 management pay grades.

Part 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Part 4. The provisions of Part 2 are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2004 (December 21, 2003).

The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.

Part 5. The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
