Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Alcohol Enforcement Project 2004 Grant. (Police Department)
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to apply for, accept and fund the Alcohol Enforcement Project 2004 Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $8,782, with a city share of $3,782 and a grantor share of $5,000. The purpose of the project is to support an enhanced alcohol enforcement strategy by uniting public education initiatives with increased enforcement activities during strategic times throughout the year.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Safety for an Alcohol Enforcement Project 2004 Grant, and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 12/01/03 to 09/30/04 would cost $8,782 of which $3,782 (43%) would be provided by the city and $5,000 (57%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Safety is authorized and the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council file 030712; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2003 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Alcohol Enforcement Project 2004 Grant:
