Substitute resolution relative to various legislative bills.

Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following positions on the bills hereinafter listed and the Common Council being advised of said matters; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it hereby approves the following legislative bills and instructs the Budget and Policy Division to appear before the proper committees to support such bills and use its best endeavors to have the same enacted into law, viz:

S-49, relating to evidence of lay and expert witnesses.
S-347, relating to authorizing the use of design-build construction process for MMSD.

S-363, relating to Milwaukee Parental Choice Program and granting rule-making authority.
(support if amended to consider background checks of all employees)
A-687, relating to possession of ecstasy and providing penalties.
A-688, relating to distributing controlled substances in a place in which a child is present and providing a penalty.
A-758/S-392, relating to removal by towing services of unregistered, abandoned or illegally parked vehicles.

A-797, relating to regulation of pawnbrokers and second-hand article and jewelry dealers.
A-819, relating to increasing filing fees for municipal court actions.
