Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install a traffic control signal at the intersection of West Highland Avenue with North 10th Street in conjunction with the reconstruction of the Marquette Interchange. Funding for the construction of the traffic control signal improvement is to be provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation under the Federally funded State Highway Improvement Program as part of the interchange project.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is reconstructing the Marquette Interchange of IH 94, USH 41, IH 43, and IH 794 under the State Highway Improvement Program; and

Whereas, The Interchange reconstruction project provides cost participation for the traffic control signal improvements; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of the traffic control signal improvements included as part of this project is $15,718.56; and

Whereas, A maximum of ten percent of the participating project cost, or $1,571.86, is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2003 Capital Purpose Account, Project/Grant Number ST320030000; and

Whereas, A minimum of ninety percent of the participating project cost or $14,146.70, is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2003 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Account, Project/Grant Number SP032030100; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation pertaining to the cost participation for...
