Resolution authorizing acceptance of a developer deposit to pay design engineering costs associated with underground utility relocation required in conjunction with redevelopment of the former Northridge Shopping Center. (DPW)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to accept a cash deposit from Tucker Development Corporation. The deposited funds will be used to cover the cost of design engineering for eventual relocation of public sanitary sewer lines and public water mains in the former Northridge Shopping Center site. The underground utilities need to be relocated to allow development of two new stores.
Body
Whereas, Tucker Development Corporation of Highland Park, Illinois, proposed to redevelop the former Northridge Shopping Center site; and
Whereas, Plans for the site call for development of two new stores which would be situated, in part, over existing City of Milwaukee sanitary sewer lines and water mains; and
Whereas, These existing sewer lines and water mains must be relocated to accommodate the proposed development; and
Whereas, The developer will fund the public utility relocation costs; and
Whereas, It is anticipated that the developer and the City will subsequently enter into an Out-of-Program Agreement which will address various project responsibilities for both parties as well as the source of funding for the required utility work; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to accept a cash deposit from Tucker Development Corporation for the purpose of completing design engineering plans for the relocation of sanitary sewer lines and water mains in conjunction with redevelopment of the former Northridge Shopping Center.
