Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Innovative Food Safety Grant. (Health Department)

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Innovative Food Safety Grant Project from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the amount of $47,000. The purpose of the project is to produce a food safety video.

BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to develop a food safety video; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 09/30/03 to 09/29/04 would cost $47,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2003 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Innovative Food Safety Grant:

1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
