Analysis
Adoption of this resolution by at least two-thirds vote of the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee will approve the blight designation and spot acquisition of five properties by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, Milwaukee County owns the properties identified below and has offered to convey them to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Authority”):

1723 West Vine Street (Tax Key No. 351-9993-000-X)

4728 North 36th Street (Tax Key No. 229-1119-000-5)

3463-65 North 8th Street (Tax Key No. 283-1253-000-9)

725 West North Avenue (Tax Key No. 352-2415-110-X)(part)

3033 North 14th Street (Tax Key No. 311-3037-000-7)

; and

Whereas, Before the Authority can acquire property prior to adoption of a redevelopment plan, it must be declared blighted pursuant to Section 66.1333(5)(c), Wisconsin Statutes, as amended; and

Whereas, In File No. 020867 adopted on October 15, 2002, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee (“Council”) deemed it desirable and in the public interest that the Authority undertake and carry out an urban renewal program under the Act and so authorized and directed the Authority to prepare Spot Acquisition Projects; and

Whereas, Milwaukee County waived its right to receive the statutory notice and a public hearing was conducted on June 19, 2003, by the Authority pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.1333(5)(c), Wisconsin Statutes, as amended; and
